These are usually "Functional" cysts that supports your pregnancy till around week 12. If they grow, twist, or otherwise become a worry your doctor will need to remove it around week 13 or so. My last pregnancy (not to scare you because its good this pregnancy), I had a cyst that became a mass and concerned of cancer. When it was removed at the start of my 2nd trimester it was the size of a Honeydew Melon.
I have a small cyst this time, but nothing like before and the doc thinks everything should be okay with it.
I had also 2 cyst during my two pregnancies, it is corpus luteum cyst that occurs during pregnancy and usually shrinks on your week 13 to 16 and mostly consist of fluid, it is very common. Usually your doctor will advise you to watch for it to make sure the cyst will not go bigger like 8 cm and have the tendency to twist that cause so much pain and sometimes dangerous.
I have or had cysts to. they also said I had a large solid mass. With further ultrasounds they said it is normal in pregnancy...i am now 8 weeks and 4 days and the ultrasound i had a few days ago shown that the mass (which was a cyst full of blood) has shrunk. I also get less pain as that was a side effect. I'm guessing that was called a "functional" cyst bcoz the sonographer told me it was good to see in pregnancy...
By any chance are any of you having morning sickness. I feel fine besides tender breasts. It's a little unsettling. I saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks and everything looked fine. But why aren't i sick??
Not everyone gets morning sickness, be glad you don't. It's horrible! Every pregnancy is different too. You might have it for one and not the other.
I just had my ultrasound today and I measured 8 weeks and 6 days, strong heartbeat. No morning sickness since 6 weeks. My doctor said that is completely normal.
I also just found out about the functional cyst also today. This was weird to hear since I have had two healthy boys (14,11) and never heard of that. My doctor said this may cause a small amount of discomfort at times but not to worry.
Nope I'm lucky I haven't got morning sickness...(so far, touch wood!) I didn't with my previous pregnancies either...I do get really tired though and low in iron...the other day my partner let me go for a nap and I ended up sleeping for four hours!!!
