I think it's a nice name, sounds like it could be unisex.

It reminds me of a Hawaiian name (Kalani). Not sure if it's a boy or girl name. You'll get used to whatever you choose, but you could also Google some baby name sites for suggestions, meanings, etc.
If you do want to use the full name on his birth certificate, one way to make it a little less feminine-seeming is to end it with a y and not an ie, in other words, Kalonney.
If you love it, that's all that matters :) But I think its a cool name.
I would use Kalon. You can use the diminutive in conversation, like people do when they call their son John 'Johnnie,' but the name on the birth certificate could be the more formal and masculine sounding word.
It's a beautiful name :) as long as you like it then that's all that matters! To me it doesn't sound girly at all!
