Medicaid Question

After the baby is born I heard that they make your partner pay child support? Is this true? Even if you're together and under the same roof? I dont want my fiance to have to pay child support so I've been trying to do some research because if I need to I'll just look for other insurance.

My daughter's dad and I weren't married but were living together. I was on medicaid, and when we went to court 6 years later, I told them I didn't want his child support but they did make him pay  my medical bills for delivery. This was 10 years ago and I have no idea why they waited so long, but he never did pay cs.

They ask because the state would go after child support before giving you free money you ask for. Besides, you would have to pursue action against your SO before he could get in trouble for anything. The government doesn't care what you do even if they say he has to pay unless you're taking action against him.

They make you sign a paper for ORS unless you claim him on your case and show he is living with you then he will receive benefits too. If you weren't living with him they would go after him through ORS and make you do a dna test
