12 week scan before I get attached due to risks in early pregnancy. I tell myself if I don't connect until I know all is well then it wouldn't hurt so much if I lost the baby. Once that first scan is done and everything is great then it clicks as being real. I worked so hard in my first pregnancy that is forget I was pregnant most of the time. It wasn't really until I was taking her home and strapping her into her car seat that I suddenly felt connected to my daughter. Until then I couldn't believe she was mine. This pregnancy has been just as quick but I'm sure it still won't feel real until I'm holding him on Monday :-) on another note feeling worried about not connecting is totally normal and shows you'll be a great mum. Those that don't care about their feelings towards their child would be more of a concern. You're going to be great :-) x

I have felt the same way. I think since early on in pregnancy other than feeling like garbage from morning sickness, sore breasts and hormones going crazy its hard to feel good about what's going on in your situation. I find the lack of feeling what's going on inside makes it hard to feel a connection to the little being inside. I go for my second ultrasound tomorrow 11weeks 4 days and I'm hoping hearing the heart beat and seeing them on the screen will make it all "Real" so to speak. Good luck with your pregnancy :-)

I didn't have that feeling until my morning sickness went away! You'll be fine you'll fall in love with your little one as soon as you hold them if not sooner!

After the baby comes, for sure.  Maybe sooner, depending on how much stress the pregnancy causes you.  Don't expect to look at the baby and fall in love, but it does happen pretty quickly after you get the hang of the baby's care (if not before).
