The hospital has lactation consultants on hand. It's a free service at many hospitals. Ask for one to come see you to make sure baby is latching correctly. Most women who experience issues do so because of incorrect latch. You can also contact Le Leche League for help. There are also a ton of breastfeeding support groups on Facebook if you need more help or support.
My great grandmother and grandmother both tried and couldn't. My mom worked so hard at it with her first, had a horrible time but eventually got it and nursed him 18 mo as well as 7 other children. I was very lucky to have no issues it all with my first. Still nervous about my second. They key is a good latch, finding alone time to nurse, and getting past the first few weeks of soreness.
Stress can also decrease milk supply so try to relax and take it one day at a time. Take breast feeding classes and see if your dr/hospital has lactation consultants you can talk to
Lots and lots of women have. In fact, if not, the human race would not exist. Do you think bottles and formula have been around since the dawn of man? :)
Go to a breastfeeding class, hospitals offer them. It will ease your fears a lot. You are not your mom, you might be one of those women whose milk comes in really lush.
