Folic acid is a synthetic form of folate & it's bad for anyone to take. I'm a medical student & I was taught that folic acid was bad which is why I never understood why doctors insist we take it. Here's an article about it written by a doctor & can you find a lot more online about why it's not good. It's best to get folate not folic acid. & you can get folate from simply eating foods with folate in it. You don't even need to over indulge in it. Just eating spinach salad once a day is good enough. https://www.drfuhrman.com/library/folic_acid_dangers_and_prenatal_vitamins.aspx
