Is it illegal to laminate them?
My mom laminated mine when I was born and my husbands is laminated but you aren't suppose to do that anymore
Do any of you know why we can't? I've never seen them laminated but now that it's brought up I'm curious as to why we cant. I also don't like that they're made out of paper.
When I was a kid they were cards pretty durable like the old drivers license and ID's and they gave them to you right there instead of sending it to you in the mail.
My comment was deleted for no reason
Yeah mine too. But I could see why they deleted mine. Wasn't trying to fight it was just really rude.
I'd make a color Xerox of the original card, and then file the original card away with important papers (where you keep you insurance papers or bank statements or your birth certificate). Then you can laminate the copy all you like, and carry it around.
The other thing is, I don't carry my Social Security card or even a facsimile of it around in my wallet. Is there something for which one needs to show a Social Security card? Because it isn't a photo ID or anything, in my state you could not even use it as a supplemental form of I.D. when signing in at the hospital or anything like that. They want a state-issued photographed hologrammed ID.
I never said I was gunna use it as an ID lol
