Oh my goodness. I'm sorry. It sounds so much like what my sister is going thru. She finally went to a urologist who ordered the ultrasound. The tech said ok go potty half way thru so she did and came back and the tech asked why she didn't go. But like I said she has to cath each time she goes to the bathroom so she can get more out. They said its like a big ses pool and that's why the infection won't go away. Hopefully they will be able to do something soon for you. But how far along are you? Are you close to the end they will be able to start doing more when baby is born?

Unfortunately this started before pregnancy. :( but it does make sense. Nerve damage can cause the sphincter muscle to not release when its supposed to. After seeing 4 different drs i finally found one willing to investigate what was going on. Everyone just tells me theres no infection but gives me antibiotics and pain meds and tells me go home. I also have albumin in my urine which is a sign of kidney damage and is the reason i had to do 24 hour catch. If it is kidney disease pregnancy can cause kidney failure if its not kept an eye on. So i hope they find something soon. I kind of expected to be hospitalized at one point this pregnancy because of kidney issues though. :(

My sister has been going thru something very similar and she has to cath herself every time she goes. She had a constant bladder infection for about 3-4 months and it just wouldnt go away. But she had the ultrasound done on her bladder like you described. And she has the urge to go every few minutes but only goes a tiny bit. They said that something in her back is not triggering her brain to tell her her bladder is full and so that is why when she feels like she finally has to go she about wets her pants because it is so full. But she is a 911 dispatcher and so she doesnt get bathroom breaks like normal people do!!! So she goes on her lunch and if someone else is there she can go but she is normally on shift by herself. So that is what caused her problem is that she was sitting and not allowing her body to go when she needed to but just held it in for a long time until she could get a break. So you could try going every 30 minutes whether you feel the need to go or not and just sit and be patient and see what comes out. But she has the constant infection going on as well because she cant ever empty her bladder. Hope that all makes sense but know you are not alone with it. Hopefully it will go away after pregnancy for you.

When i called my ob earlier i was informed they would probably scan my bladder to see exactly how much urine will not come out (normally for me its around 105 mL & normal for a healthy normal adult is less than 50) and then they would insert a catheter to help drain my bladder. With my other symptoms and urine catches coming back as infection free no one knows whats going on or why i have blood in my urine that comes and goes as well.

Ya sounds like a UTI. I have had a couple in the past month and then got a yeast infection right after. But as buggie said as long as it hasnt gone to your kidneys you should be fine on antibiotics. Just ask if you should take a pro biotic as well with since the antibiotics will mess up the good and bad yeast levels leaving the chance of a yeast infection and those are no fun with bladder infections. Good luck but try drinking lots and lots of water and get to your dr as soon as possible.

There is never an infection present when i go thru this each time. :( i have no answers and have gone through this for 10 months now. Just turned in a 24 hour urine catch yesterday so that they could check for kidney failure. When i get an infection the pain is a lot different. This pain is from an overly full bladder that simply will NOT empty. As in i can feel my bladder in my lower abdomen :/

As long as it hasnt gotten into your kidneys they should just give you antibiotics. I will keep my fingers crossed!!

Sounds kind of like a UTI. If the pain is that bad, u might have another kind of infection going on. You for sure need to get in & see a doctor as soon as possible. I hope it's nothing serious & I will keep ya in my thoughts.
