genetic blood testing?

Correct me if im wrong but does the test for downs syndrome not carry high risk of miscarriage?  
Is that wat genetic bloods is??

I had it done since I'm 35 now. I knew the sex of the baby since 12 wks. Its 99.98% accurate,  at least thats what mine says. It not only tests your blood but the babies as well and that's how it can be so accurate. I'll be really upset if it was wrong, my last 3 were boys so I had to buy all new stuff for this lil girl. But all my ultrasounds since then have also said girl so I think I'm good.

They offered it  to me since I'm 34, and that's soooo old...lol.

Its to test for down syndrome not all dr offices offer that test and it used to be only for older people now they are starting to use it for anyone but my clinic didnt offer it

Is that the one where the check if baby is okay? ? I had one with ny first but they never told me about the sex.. that sounds all new to me

My doctor offered me one. It was covered by my insurance so I took it. I should have my results back in 2-3 weeks and also know the sex of my baby.
