I'm 18 weeks today any I have high thyroid, and its very touchy. I have to take pills all day just because if it goes to high I can miscarriage. It has happen before, I lose my first baby because it wasn't treated. And now that my thyroid us still going high I have to take a high dose and it made my thyroid levels drop very low, that day was horrible I went to the hospital that night and I was just so weak I couldn't walk by myself. My best advice to you is talk to you ob about seeing an endocrinology They Are specialized in treating in thyroid. That is the safetest way to deal with any kind of thyroid. obs and drs only know parts and bits or dealing with thyroid, and I'm not trying to scary you but I've lost one baby to my thyroid and I've done my homework on trying to get this handled so my baby can be healthy
I have it under active to, had it for 10 yrs. I'm 22 weeks & my Dr here in Tennessee told me not to miss my medicine cause it can cause retardation. I have had all my testing done for that & he is fine.
An overactive thyroid runs in my family. It seems like all the girls have it, all of our babies have been fine. Just take your pills every morning. Mine actually went away since ive been pregnant but alot of girls in my family have it. Dont worry, just take the medicine and everything should be fine. Especially if you just need a low dose.
yes im just waiting for my prescription id probably pick it up today Im just worried about it affecting my baby she said that it can affect my babys brain
I have it too! The doctor prescribed me some small tablets to take everyday. I wouldn't worry! Just take what the doctor prescribes:)
Me I have a under active thyroid had it since I was 18 after my 1st child I hate it. I've just had my 12 week scan and I went to book my 20 week on and they said I wasn't allowed and I have to come back at 16 weeks to see the specialist don't be worried it's just for bloods and to get weighed and check growth of the baby xx
Mine was low last pregnancy. It was just during pregnancy tho and went back to normal about 3mths after birth. I just had to take a tablet every day. But it is important you deal with it because it was identified as one of the reasons I struggled to develop a good supply for breastfeeding.
