Contractions??

Is it normal to only feel them down low?  I don't feel anything at the top of my uterus but I have these really bad cramps that come in waves at the bottom of my bump. Is it just a cramp or can that be a contraction?? Todays my due date so I really want it to be contractions! I've been feeling these off and on cramps since this morning, they aren't consistent but they are totally different from the braxton hicks I've experienced in the past.

Starting to form a pattern! I really hope this is it, if they stay this consistent (right now they are between 22-35 minutes) for another two hours I'm going to call in. I'm gbs+ so I'm not entirely sure when I should go to l& d.

I dont feel mine at the top really at all.  I just had mine yesterday and i feel them way down low, if they are coming and going in a pattern I would start timing them.

Honestly, earlier on I only felt them low, and they could only pick them up on the monitors low during NST's. That was clear up until I was 32 weeks. I'm now 38 weeks, and I'm feeling them up at the top of my uterus now as you're expected to (it's how they do their training on monitoring contractions.) Just let your doctor know that's where you feel them. I know what you're talking about, and the nurses always p*ssed me off because they wouldn't listen to me about it, and would put the bands wherever they wanted on my body, not where I felt them. Just keep an eye on things, and time them to make sure you aren't going into preterm labor (if you're earlier than term), or if you're going into labor (term). You didn't specify how far along you are, so I'm not sure. Good luck either way.
