Thanks for your input ladies I will defitnetly ask my Dr today at my apt.
Mammaj07 Its been more than a week that I haven't slept more than an hr a day. I also have a two year old who's turning three soon and doesn't nap during the day so day naps for me are out. I can't drink milk because im allergic so warm milk is out. I tried other home remedies and nothing has worked. I need sleep to stay sane for my daughter.
My high-risk OB just told me to take Benadryl, the regular kind, if I can't sleep. Since my allergies are acting up too, it does double duty. I ended up buying the children's liquid type and took the 12-year-old dosage.
I hAve the same problem. I have trouble sleeping my dr told me to take unisom. It is safe to take when prego.
There are natural remedies to try, such as warm milk. I also find getting up, keeping the lights dim, but waiting to get sleepy again before going back to bed helps alleviate the extra tension of lying in bed wide awake.
I would speak with your doctor, as the previous poster suggested, but low doses of Unisom are suggested by some doctors for morning sickness (relative of Benadryl) so that might be something to ask your doctor about?
Only regular Benadryl is ok to take. The D has a decongestant in it, whereas the regular is only an antihistamine. My dr actually suggested I take Benadryl if I had trouble sleepig
This sounds like moms who run out of patience wit thier kids not going to sleep so they just give them benadryl...sry i wud ask ur doc for a natural option ...try doing yoga bfore bed..listen to soft music low volume ..drink warm tea..
