1st U/S COMPLETE!

Well, I had my 1st U/S today at 8 weeks.  THERE WAS A HEARTBEAT!!  Such a relief as the last time we found twins with no heartbeats......I was scared to death to look at the screen....but there was a little bean with a heart rate of 175 bpm.  It's measuring 7 weeks, 5 days, which is good.  The only thing is that they found a cyst on my left ovary which they said was no big deal, and a fibroid on my uterus.  The only thing that concerns me is that they found a small bleed behind the placenta.  I'm hoping and praying that it resolves, as they said it most likely would.....they must not be too concerned b/c I don't go back for another month and no U/S again until 16-20 weeks!  YIKES...If I had it my way, I'd have an U/S weekly!

I wouldn't worry too much about the bleed. They said the same thing at my 8 week ultrasound, and I am now 29 weeks :D

Yep, the midwife said not to be alarmed if I have some red spotting and/or brownish spotting.....but if it were to get heavy to call.....Of course now I'm in the bathroom constantly checking out the TP!  LOL!!  She said no sex for 2 weeks also (YAHOO!  haha).....

Thanks mamaofonetrying42 - Makes me feel better....I didn't think it was a huge concern, as they didn't seem too bothered by it...still makes me nervous.

Joy - I'll google it.....Thanks

WOW! That is an EXCELLENT heartrate! The cyst on your left ovary is not a big deal. It is the luteal cyst and it will shrivel up and your body will absorb it. Google "luteal cyst" for more information and you'll see every single pregnant woman has one!
