I'm taking my gestational diabetes test. Can I drink water?!! Ive fasted and done everything I'm suppose to, but I'm thirsty!!!

The test is different everywhere that's why some have to fast and some don't... just listen to what ur ob told u

Yes like the ladies above said, it depends on which test u are taking. I believe the 3 hour test its not recommended but with both my children I did the one hour test and you are aloud to only drink water. Goodluck.

They told me no food or liquids until the test was done.

You only need to fast for tbe 3 hr test. and the 1st time i took the 1 hr they had no problem with me drinking water to help with any nausea. The 2nd time they told me they rather i didnt drink a bunch but could drink alittle bit if i needed.

you can actually drink water after you drink the stuff too, but thats about it. Why did you fast? This is my 3rd pregnancy and theyve never told me to fast.

I drank water up until i drank the stuff they give. u jst can't drink anything until the test us done.
