Be careful ladies!

Haven't getting round to posting my labour story as it was such a lengthy and complicated labour I find it difficult to type the whole experience out. I would like to just make sure however that you ladies are aware of when your waters could have broke. Instead of coming away all at once mine started slowly as instead of popping, the bag my baby was in tore meaning my waters came away gradually. This meant I had fluid coming away slowly which I knew wasn't right and a midwife tried to tell me it was my mucus plug even though I was also having regular pains which I also knew were contractions but I was told by her not to go to hospital . A couple of days later I decided enough was enough and went into hospital to find out my waters had been broken for 5 days and was made high risk as you are not supposed to go more than 18 hours with your waters been broken without medical attention due to risk of infection. This made me not able to have the water birth I had been hoping for and it also meant having to receive the hormone drip and as I said making the whole labour process a whole other experience. Please be careful ladies you know your own body! If you think somethings not right get it checked out! I dread to think if I hadn't of gone to hospital when I did.

When I told the hospital I was having to wear a pad because it was coming away that often almost like a period does they told me to give them the pad I was wearing so they could use that to determine what the fluid was however there wasn't enough there so I had an internal done where they inserted this tool that collects some of the fluid then that confirmed it was my waters. It was like a clear fluid and a little thick almost like discharge. You really need to get back to the hospital the silly midwife who tried to tell me it was my mucus plug if I had listened to her god knows what would have happened

How did you know it tore because i recently went to the hospital from having regular contractions but was sent back home. I've been leaking for a while now and was told it must be my mucus plug also. I'm still having contractions threw out the day & reading this just put me a bit on edge! :/
What does it look like is it clear water that comes out?
