Ok so I'm 31+2 and today my s/o and I are leaving for our trip to go see our families and I'm so nervous. I've never met his parents before because they live 1600 miles away. Well we are driving to see them and I'm scared we will also have our 70 pound Labrador Retriever with us. I am afraid the whole car ride will be miserable because we are taking turns driving so we can go straight through.

I actually enjoy long car trips,  but 1600 miles straight through is too long.  Is there really not any way you can break it up and stop to rest?  That's actually a dangerous amount of time to spend driving,  even if you're not pregnant and don't have a big dog.
