Glad you called your doctor...If you get anymore blood-lie if you have to and say it's a lot! If it's a little then it's probably from checking your cervix. For me, I never took any chances and always called when I was worried. When I was 2.5cm I went into labor the next week! Sounds like you'll be going in soon! But please, go to the ER if it's an uncomfortable amount of blood!
my cousing had bleeding in her 38th week and her doctor told her that her cervix was getting ready to deliver the baby and the light blood was a great sign.
If they irritated your cervix, then that's probably what it is, or it could be that your body is telling you that your about ready to have your baby! :-) It could be your mucas plug starting to come out.. Don't worry too much about it, unless you start bleeding heavily....
Did the Dr. do a pelvic exam. That sometimes can disturb the cervix and cause bleeding. If you are really concerned about it, I would as for them to see you or go to ER. The mucus plug usually looks like old blood, kinda brownish red. If it's bright red, I would think the Dr would want to see you. Keep us posted.
