Mostly medical history, registration, blood and urine tests. I've also never heard of checking for heart beat at first appointment but because I'm high risk they will be checking at 8 weeks. I live in texas but I'm originally from California. I think it varies wherever you are.

Tests mainly. I have blood tests done, urine tests, weight taken, blood pressure,  got the flu shot, doctor did a pap smear and then they see if they can hear a heart beat. My baby was under my c section scar so they couldnt hear her so they brought in an ultrasound machine to check if she was moving and she was. Basically you talk to your doctor and go over pregnancy. Good luck!
