Some do give you the 3d. Mine did without me asking and I hadn't even thought about it. While getting the normal ultra sound the tech just changed over to 3d to show me n gave me a cd full of pictures. All just depends on where you go
I'm glad I saw this, I was wondering the same thing
Thanks guys that helps a lot, now all I need to take care of now is the glucose test, pretty nerve racking lol. Actually there are some insurance companies that actually cover most ultrasounds well at least lower the price, but I'll just have to ask the policy at the

The doctors office won't give you a 3d ultrasound. You have to get it privately.. When I went to get mines it cost me 79 dollars here in California it's totally worth it :)
I had to pay privately for mine here in the UK. They cost between £90-120 here too.
As far as I know you have to specifically ask for one, I've never heard of any provider who offered them to every patient. It's not necessary so I don't know if there are any insurance providers who cover them, it is usually paid for out of pocket and often done at a different location than the standard ultrasounds are because they're usually private companies offering them. I didn't get one, figured I'd see my son's face soon enough as it was and had other ways to spend that couple hundred dollars.
