What to make of this, spotting or miscarriage?

Hi my girlfriend is 8 weeks pregnant. She had a miscarriage in april ago. She has been experiencing normal pregnancy symptoms, back pain, frequent urination, etc. A few days ago she was experiencing very sharp pains in her pelvic area that were extremely painful. She said now the pains have gone down but are still present, just not as intense or frequent. However ,  last night, she was wiping after she urinated and found a relatively light amount of blood down there. Also, she has not had morning sickness as bad in the last couple days or so as she was having earlier on in her pregnancy (it went from throwing up maybe 5 or 6 times a day to maybe 1 time) . When she went a little later there was more blood when she wiped.  Today she has not had any pains or any bleeding.

It is important to note we went to the doctors and told him about the sharp, bad pains, and he said that she was close to a miscarriage and put her on bedrest. I should also note that she is only 4'11 100 pounds. Can anybody help me decipher this situation?

I was actually out of town unfortunately when she went to the doctor.  The doc said that because of her size and age, that just puts her even more at risk (she is 16, i know, i know) for a miscarriage.  I don't think they really did any tests though.  I thought spotting is only supposed to happened right after fertilization like within 7 days after and shes 8 almost 9 weeks pregnant now. Thank you very much though, god bless.

Umm pains sound like a m/c but if she isnt bleeding heavy then that doesnt sound like mc just more or less sounds like spotting which is normal in early pregnancy. The morning sickness being slowed down isnt anything to worry about. Weight doesnt have anythhing to do with pains and bleeding either. If you went to the doctor and he said she was close to a m/c did the doctor do any tests? or even an U/S? Because when i was going through my m/c they gave me an internal and booked me for an u/s. I would say dont worry for now and just take it easy. But if the pains and bleeding come back then i advise you to go to EMERGENCY you'll get more answers that way. Good luck and i hope this helped a bit
