Leaking Fluid????????

How do you know if you are leaking fluid?  Does anyone else feel that they might be?

I woke up two nights ago to go to the bathroom and water came down to my leg. I got really scared and went to Labor & Delivery thinking I was leaking water. They took sample, did U/S and also hooked me up to the monitor for 2 hours. Everything came back normal. Dr said it is sometimes just urine. I am 23 weeks.

When i was preg with my daughter, i was close to my due date about a week away and i was leaking a tiny bit here and there. I went to the doctor, he checked me,said it wasnt amniotic fluid, said everything was fine. Days later i go to the hospital because if kept feeling it, they did a sonogram and almost all of the water was gone and they induced my labor right there. If the doctor would have realized that it was water, i would have had my baby sooner. Because the water had been dripping prior to labor, my baby had to stay in neo-natal icu. She was fine, but because there was a high risk of infection she needed to be watched. Careful with that stuff, and good luck.

I know the feeling all too well... the doctor told me the further you are along the more discharge you will have.. i know this is gross but he also told me to check to see what color the discharge was if its clear and sweet smelling it could be amniotic fluid. I hope that helps.. I wear panty liners now because i am always damp... its annoying huh? One of the many joys of pregnancy. If you feel unsure call your ob that never hurts anything its his or her job :o)

I will be 27 weeks on wednesday.  I dont feel anything coming out, my underware just feels damp/wet all the time, so i have to change them b/c....well its annoying to feel like that LOL.  I cant tell if i am sweating down there (GROSS I KNOW) or if i am leaking fluids.

I thought that I was. How far along are you? What you do is call the doc. and they will do a ph test. where tehy make you lie on your back and they soak up whatever "liquids" come out if any on a cue tip and then they test it on a ph strip if its so high it means it could be amniotic fluid... I think 3 or 4 is normal. but when I thought it was leaking my underwear were a little damp and it felt like stuff was coming out but it turned out to be ok just discharge.
