I would go to your family doctor right away because they can confirm your pregnancy and do your initial blood work. But most maternity clinics won't start seeing you until you're a little further along. I called to make an appointment as soon as I found out, but they said they don't accept patients until 10 weeks, but they were still able to schedule the appointment for that date (:

I heard the sooner the better. You want prenatal care asap. Just in case you know..I went in at five weeks (as soon as I found out) and they were able to do a sonagram and see my tiny baby that soon. Even heard a little heartbeat. Asap would be best I hear (:

Usually at your first appointment you just do a urine sample and they may do some bloodwork.  My doctor also did an ultrasound at my first appointment,  but I don't think all of them do. I was 8 weeks at my first appointment.
