5 weeks no heart beat?

I had my first ultrasound apt today to find out how far along I am and the doctor estimated 5 weeks and 2 days. She tried to find a heart beat and could not. She said she is not sure if it is because it is too soon to tell or if it because something is wrong and will miscarry. They have scheduled me another blood test to check my hormone levels and another ultrasound in a week to search for a heart beat. This news has me stressed out and very worried. Is anyone else experiencing this or know more about it? Thank you for your comments

If you already had a miscarriage before you should feel the symptoms. I had a miscarriage before and i was bleeding for weeks until it finally happened :( it was the most depressing time of my life. Now im expecting my little miracle the doc did an ultrasound at around 6weeks and there was no heartbeat. I herd the heartbeat until week 8 and it felt great :) i believe its to soon still. Wait at least a couple more weeks. Hope everything goes well.

Thank you! As of now my HCG levels are normal for the 5th week of pregnancy so i pray they continue to be normal. Thats great your sister works with an OB that's very helpful when you have questions. I would be asking hundreds of questions daily haha

Is hen I went in for my 10 week check up get checked the heartbeat wih a Doppler an we didn't hear anything she couldn't find the baby, she did an ultrasound an saw the baby's heartbeat get normal, sometimes it's just to soon or the baby is just in a certain position that they can't pick it up with a Doppler, if you were ganna have a miscarriage they could tell with blood test you need to have HCG levels at a certain range an if it's lower then they know you miscarried... My sister is a medical assistant for an OB she tells me all these things(:

That crazy i don't understand why they would offer you that. The 'complicated pregnancy doctor' who spoke with me said you can't tell much at five weeks but recommend a blood test for hormone levels. She said to take this blood test n find my levels, then within 72 hours take another and if the hormone levels have increased by 75% or close to that there's no sign of a miscarriage. I would request they do this for you as well

I didnt hear the heart beat till 15 weeks ! Im 23weeks and expecting a healthy baby girl :)

They told me same thing last night and even offered me to take the pill for the miscarriage , so it can happen faster and I deny it, I was why the hell u offer me that if u say there's a yolk sac and I'm measuring 5 weeks....I'm so sad and they just told me to expect my miscarriage in a few days

Dont be alarmed my doct. Personally checked me when i was 5 weeks and told me it was too soon to detect a heartbeat ....we wouldnt hear a heart beat till around 10 weeks he was so right :)

Thank u that helps a lot. The doctor really has me concerned since ive had a miscarriage before. Hopefully ill be able to hear it next week

I think the earliest you can detect a heartbeat is 6 weeks. Don't worry I believe it's to early. Hopefully I'm right. When I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks 3 days you could hear it the week before you couldn't and now I'm 17 weeks.

I pretty much went through the same thing they said I was supposed to be 7 weeks, did scan no heartbeat the girl was so rude she said there wasn't anything there and asked if I was sure I was pregnant even though I had already had the the confirmation APPT with Dr. When I started questioningher she said there was a sac but nothing else and that according to my ultrasound I was only five and a half weeks but I should probably talk to my doctor. my doctor then said I should probably prepare for the worst that they might be wrong but I should at least get prepared now I'm 24 weeks with a healthy baby boy who's growing Just fine and kicking up a storm. :) they had me wait two weeks before doing another ultrasound and it was the scariest most stressful two weeks of my life so I understand what you're feeling but keep your head upand just stay positive I know its easier  said than done. Keep us posted:)
