Being Induced

Is it different to get induced when you are almost 2 weeks overdue? Do you dilate quicker or the same as someone who gets induced early? Im trying to plan out when to make the 3 hour drive to see my sister when she gets induced this week. But i dont want to drive up there and she doesnt have the baby the day i go, because i have to be back at work the next day so i was only planning to stay 1 day. So do you progress quicker if youre overdue or no?

I was induced and had my daughter 8 minutes after they put the pitocin in. My body just needed the jump start to get her out...

Hopefully when it all starts she can get hold of you and you'll more than likely make it there for the rest. Good luck to her and hope you are able to be there xx

I agree with mommyTobe_12

I would wait till she goes in and see how things go. 3 hours seems like plenty of time. Even if for some freakish reason things went quickly...at least you would get some time with the new baby.

in my opinion when you get induced it's cos the baby isn't ready to come on its own, so they're basically forcing the baby out. and it depends on the person. some can go into labor quick and others can be in labor for 36-40 hrs with nothing happening before having to have a csection ( happened to a few of my friends )

I honestly don't think there's any way to tell :/
