There could be complications from the contrast dye they use, however if you had a pulmonary embolism its very likely it would kill you and baby which is why they took the risk.
I agree. It's better to be safe than sorry with any kind of possible clotting. I had multiple pulmonary embolism in both my lungs last year. Horrible pain and a week in the hospital. As a consequence, I now have to take heparin twice daily to prevent the possibly of more clots forming. We are already at a high risk for clotting when we are pregnant, so the need for the scans were definitely higher than the risk for baby. PE kills people every day.
