6Week's & 4Day's Preg, Yolk Sac But No Fetal Pole Or HeartBeat.

Hi Girls,

I Had My First Ever Ultrasound As This Is My First Pregnancy. I Am 6Week's 5Day's Pregnant According To The Date Of My Last Perion ( 14.April.2010 ). I Was Shown My Sac's ( Gen Sac - 1.21cm & Yolk sac - 0.20cm ). Does Anyone No If It Is Normal For Someone At My Time Of Pregnancy To Not Be Able To See The Fetal Pole Or HeartBeat, Also With This Measuring's Of My Sac's Are They Are Good Size. I Have Been Booked In To Get Another Ultrasound In 2Week's Time, Should I Deffently Be Able To See My Baby's HeartBeat Then?.

I'm A Worried Wreck. I Don't No What I Would Do If I Loose This Baby :).

Hey guy's. Saw my little on today, I am approx 7wk's 4day's & saw bub's little heartbeat :). Was great. Thanks for the kind word's. x

Don't worry! When I was 6wks 6days I only saw the heartbeat flicker didn't hear it. Going back at 7 wks 2days we heard a heartbeat. No worries hun!

Thank's Guy's. Positive Feedback, I've Heard Of This b4 From A Few Friends. Such a RollerCoast. I Has A Internal Ultrasound :). So Nothing To Worry About?.

Okay, my textbook says gest sac and yolk sac (with no pole or heartbeat) is 5.5 weeks gestational age... But... It also says at 6 weeks, the living embryo is too small to measure. I'm sure this isn't the definite reassuring answer you were looking for, but there's good news... Usually if something was wrong, you yolk sac would not measure correctly or look right. I hope this time flies til ur next U/S appt. Good Luck... I think you don't need to worry... I've seen this before.

I think you sacs' sizes are good... I'm still looking for more info on fetal pole... Its in my other textbook.

Did you have a transabdominal scan or a transvaginal?  I went for a dating scan at 6 weeks 3 days and they couldn't see a fetal pole or heartbeat when they did the abdominal scan, but when they did the vaginal one we could a little jellybean with a blinking heart.  Go for another scan in a week and I'm sure you will see a heart beat.  Good luck!
