Doctors date a pregnancy 2 weeks before conception because a pregnancy technically starts at the ripening of the egg, which, for most women happens approximately 2 weeks before ovulation (the time when the egg is released and the only time the sperm can meet the egg). So, if she is 20 weeks, the actual fetal gestational age is about 18 weeks. However, women do not all ovulate at the same time and sperm can survive in the vagina for up to 7 days. Since your ex had sex with multiple partners within a week or 2 of each other, condom or not, the ONLY way to truly know the father is to have a paternity dna test done after the birth. I also want to add that it most states it is a criminal offense to lie about the possibility of someone else being the father, it is in everyone's best interest to have a test done to genetically determine paternity. Good luck!!

If you count back 21 weeks, it will be the time she should have had her last actual period. I believe I answered this the other day as well as alot of other moms who gave you similar answers. You need to ask her when he last period was. And possibly have a DNA test once the baby is born so you know for sure. I also believe you said you used a condom. So if you used a condom and she had a period between you and the new guy the chances of this being your baby are 0!! The reason the dr add 2 weeks is because it makes it easier to date the pregnancy since not all women ovulate at the same time every cycle. So by going from the last known period they at least have a guide as to how far along the pregnancy may be and then date it once an u/s is done. I looked it up and my last known period was at the end of June, however I know when I was ovulating, but for her and I to be so close she should have ovulated around the same time. I am 20w6d and I ovulated around the 16-18th of July. So as far as dates go NO the baby is not yours. However to be 100% sure you will need a DNA test once the baby is born.
