Congrats on ur baby:) I am 32+3wks and unfortunatly I still smoke. Not alot but yes I do. I have an ultrasound on the 15th because my placenta is grated:( obviously from smoking. But to ur question yes there are side affects that happen/cause issues. But granted I cut down to 3or 4 a day from a 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day is awesome for me. Not saying its ok I wish I could have the strength to quit completly. But the withdrawels are horrible. It puts me in so much stress and thats definently not good for me or baby. My doctor said its not good to quit cold turkey due to the fact that me and baby could go into shock. At my next app im def gonna ask my dr what my options are to quit completly:) & if u want to, then talk to ur doc they will def help you:) goodluck

My doc told me that it was too soon to harm my baby (I was six weeks) but she also said anything is possible n that u won't kno until the baby us born n told me I need to stop everything I was doing just incase something does happen if I were to keep on
I quit right then n there but it's hard but u can do it ! Just think it's for the health of ur baby

Congrats on the pregnancy. well done on cutting down on the smoking. I can give you facts and information about smoking during pregnancy but don't panic reading them, you're not too late to stop damage from being caused.. It is dangerous, and can increase risk of miscarriage, birth defects, stillbirth, low birth weight, cot death, placental abruption and problems with child in later life. However if you quit soon you could avoid many of those things dramatically. One or two a day are still harmful.. and there's no telling if damage has been done as everyone is different, but like I said i'm pretty sure if you stop now all harm can be avoided. You can visit a doctor for advice on stopping. I read the facts about smoking during pregnancy and quit the day I found out I was pregnant as I just didn't want to risk it. If you want any more info just message me :) Hope this helped., and good luck with the quitting, hopefully more people can give you some advice to quit. Take care x

That's great that you could cut down to 1, try to cut even that one out, you know that it is not good for your baby. My hubby used to smoke a package a day, a month before the baby came he quite smoking, it was really hard for him and it took some time, but he did it! I am very proud of him...I never smoked don't know the feeling, but good luck and congratulations!
