i know its like your body produces a natural drug, i dont remember talking to some people towards the end. its amazing your body can do that for you, i think it has to! i nearly passed out i think.
I gave birth naturally twice and the only thing I remember is that I had to breath really deep and slow through labor pains. Then, I don't know if this makes sense, once the pain had gotten to a 10, that's all that there was from then on. I just got kind of numb to it naturally.
thats exactly what you need to do, keeping your muscles relaxed and letting your body do its job is key. even at the most painful times try to stay as limp as possible. try to breath in the good, let the bad out slowly. and take one contraction at a time! dont think about all the ones to come! just think of it as a roller coaster, as you go up your uterus is tightening when you hit the peak of your contraction and it starts going back down. do you use a midwife? also feel free to get into a position that eases that pressure. a womans body knows what to do.
Thanks for the help. I guess the most important thing is to remember to un-tense the muscles and relax. I'll try looking at my boyfriends eyes..
I took one class and found out the hard way that the techniques used, cause you to hyperventilate... So instead of panting, I just took deep breaths in.. and blew them out slowly when Iwas having Cobra.. Paid off.. He was 9lbs 8oz... lol
I used my mother in laws eyes as a focal point and she helped me breath. I thought I was going to die until she got there and helped me. She also saved my DH's life (I was choking him when she walked in). I didn't take Lamaze but wish that I would have so I would have known how to breath.
I also coached my nepew's gf when she delivered and made her look in my eyes and breath with me just like my MIL did me.
I also had a fast delivery though, so I'm sure that helped!
