Afraid to call the Dr... 29 weeks - Thoughts??

Some of you know my history - everytime I call the dr or see him lately he sends me to L & D. I am home on bedrest - tore through my cerclage - 2 cm dialated and contract throughout the day.  Things have been pretty calm -besides the usual waking up and feeling like I did 10000 situps and loose stool - but yesterday I felt even worse.  Went to the store to get dog food and (TMI..sorry) - I thought I was going to poo my pants in the middle of the dog isle..because my cramps were so bad.... I can't go poo in public so I got home as fast as I could and all was okay - but the crampiness continued all day.. in my back and abdomen.  I laid down for the rest of the day.  Had the kids last night and did their ususal Monday night routine - got them into bed and felt pretty icky.  Went to the potty and when I wiped there was pink/red tinged something or other on the tp.  Laid down.  DS (mommys little angel) came in at 2 am (he NEVER gets up unless he has a fever) and he was rubbing my legs and telling me he just wanted to hold me (he is 5) - I crawled into his bed with him and after some serious hugging he fell asleep.  Woke up this am and again with the continous cramps - back and lower abdomen and the pink/red stuff on the tp.  I had two really hard contractions last night in bed and I felt sharp shooting pains in my cervix area - and today I feel like my insides are going to fall out.  My question is.... I have a DR appointment tomorrow morning - should I just wait until then.... call them this morning or see if anything else progresses throughout the day?  I just hate going to L&D - the examine me so much they bring on contractions then keep me for monitoring because I am contracting.... Any thoughts would be would help - Ioh - BTW for those of you who do not know.. I had my first at 32 weeks - preterm labor for 15 weeks and I dialated from 4 cm to 8 cm with 3 contractions - thats it... I have incompetent cervix and preterm labor. UGH!

Just went potty again and some pink stuff was in the toliet and on the tp - not much..it is not mucus - . I felt like the last couple of days that I might have a yeast infection and was waiting for my appointment to tell my dr.  No spotting in panties or anything, no clots of red blood- and again..TIM - sorry my vagina feels like I have had rough sex for 10 hours - and I am on pelvic rest so we know that did not happen ... even though I wish!:)

Hiya hun, i am so sorry to hear about what you are going through. I have an incompetant cervix (premature labour at 23wks, lost my son) so i was told to have cervical sutures in with any other pregnancies. I am currently pregnant with my 3rd baba. I had something similar when i was pregnant with my daughter, cramps, bleeding etc. I went straight to the hospital, they gave me bedrest and something to stop the contrctions (i was 34wks preg though) It stopped all the pain and bleeding, and i was able to come home in comfort til my c section 4wks later. I really would suggest going to see the doctor hunny, they may do the same for you and stop the contractions.
Good luck hun, and please please keep us informed with your progress :)

With your history I would DEFINATELY atleast call you OB and let him know about the pink tinged mucus.  That's what concerns me.  Especially since you had 2 pretty intense contractions.  I know it's such  a pain constantly going to L & D but the ultimate goal here is to keep that baby cooking for as long as possible.  Always better to be safe than sorry (as waitn838 said)  Please keep us posted.

I would call the doc for sure, especially with your history.  I am so sorry that you are having all this trouble.  I hope that things go well and that you are able to keep your lil one in you as long as possible.  Will be thinking of you.

Debobs - I had the cervical stich put in and I tore through that at 25 weeks...(so much for that one... but the stich stayed in with my son)  I think I am going to wait and see... I seem to be feeling a little better so I am going to lay down a little longer. I don't really understand the pink/red stuff - I havent had anything touch my cervix to provoke it... I am pretty sure she is very low - when she moves I get pain in my thighs -- Do any of you do the fetal kick counts???  She rarely does 10 movements in 5 hours during the day - only really feel her when I am in bed at night - but I am in bed mostly all day and nothing.... that is what is starting to concern me... I am just wondering if 29 weeks is too early to feel her most of the time. I eat.. drink juice and nothing - this is scaring me a bit...

The pink stuff concerns me.  Especially since you tore through your stitch.  At 29 weeks you should be able to feel consistant movements at specific periods during the day.  Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I would call the ob.  Voice your concerns and see what s/he says.  It very well may be that you need a trip to L & D to ensure eveyrthing is ok.  They may also need to do an NST to check and make sure baby is being reactive.

One question, do you know if you have an anterior or posterior placenta? If it's anterior it COULD mask a lot of her movements.  But at the same time, I'm almsot 23 weeks, mine is anterior but I still feel her moving regularly through the day.

As I said before it's definately better to waste time going in to find nothing is wrong than for you to wait and it end up being to late.

I'm glad you are going in, I know it is hard to keep going into L & D, but I had my first baby at 28 weeks and had no clue he was coming, babies born at this gestation have an excellent chance of making it, but still usually need some kind of intensive care! I am currently pregnant with baby #4 (24 weeks) and if i had the same symptoms as you I would go in just to be safe! I hope it ends up that there was no really reason to worry, but better to be there and not need it than have a baby at 29 weeks at home! I will pray for you and your baby! good luck and keep us posted!

I'm glad you went in, both of those need to be treated in order to make you feel better and reduce the risks for baby.  I'm also glad that it was something minor compared to what it could have been.

Curious - I was up worried most of the night.  The antibiotic clearly stated on its warning to not take this med if you are 38 to 40 weeks pregnant - in labor or could be close to labor.. WTF is that - I have NEVER seen that on a warning label... SO I am a tad worried about that - but the vaginal yeast suppositories are worring me the most.  I am 2cm dialiated - they did not check if I was leaking fluid - I feel constant drips all day long (which I contribute to bladder infection and baby kicks) but if it was not pee - I am putting meds right up there... I have a dr appointment at 11:00 am EST so I am going to ask - but it just does not seem right to shove meds up there if I am open.... I was told to only put it in a little  - not to touch my cervix... but now I am worried ... Thoughts?  Oh - and now instead of pink when I wipe it is orange from the meds... Wonderful.  Loose poo... orange pee and yeast meds.. I AM SOOOO ATTRACTIVE!!!!

LMAO, sorry I had to laugh at that last line.  What medication did they put you on for the UTI?  I've never heard of a med having that kind of warning either.  I also agree it's best to wait on the yeast meds.  I would ask your doctor about something like oral diflucan.  That way you aren't introducing anything foreign into the vagina.  Diflucan usually is pretty effective as well.  Good luck.  Let us know what the doc says.
