After breastfeeding is over

I stopped breastfeeding my third son, in early December 2013.. It is now 1/21/14... I haven't had a menstrual cycle since August 2011, before I became pregnant with him.. Now, I am wondering, (I have forgotten these things, from the first 2 babies) how long will it take my body to realize, that I am no longer breastfeeding and to remember about menstrual cycles.. Don't get me wrong, it has been a blessing NOT having the cycles, but at some point, I know it's coming back, and I would like to "feel prepared" to an extent..

I breast fed my son for a year and was worried about that. My period didn't come back until around 6 months or a little longer. It takes a little time;-)

That's a long time. Unfortunately I got mine back after 8 months of breastfeeding and I had no signs it just kind of happened.
