Allergies

Hi I recently found out im about 6 weeks pregnant and I stopped taking my allergy medication (zyryec-D) because I didn't know if it was safe to take while pregnant. The only problem is, is that I'm having the worst time because everything triggers me to sneeze or rub my eyes and at night it's especially bad because I can't breathe as easily as I was able to while on my allergy medication. I don't have an appointment with a doctor for a few weeks and I haven't gotten a chance to ask. Does anyone know if it's ok to continue taking my allergy medicine (zyrtec-D)??

Talk to your doctor there ARE allergy meds that are safe to take during pregnancy.  I have horrible allergies that act up even more when I'm pregnant and I always have to take SOMETHING for them.

i would call your doctor office and just ask the nurse on duty. I know i do that when i have questions and they are always willing to help. good luck!

I would call your doctor. I know plain Zyrtec is fine to take, but I'm not clear on Zyrtec-D. I believe the only difference is that it has Pseudoephedrine in it, but I'm not 100% and your doctor would be the safest to ask. You should just be able to call and ask and find out over the phone.

It's not okay pretty much the only think u can take is tylenol . There's others that you can take tho for allergy . The reason I know is because my doc gave me a list . For allergies take either claritin or benadryl thosecare safe for you and your baby. I hope this helps :) if u need any more help on Meds that are safe to take just ask . By the way congrats on your pregnancy.
