Anemia

Has anyone been told they became anemic since being pregnant?  The nurse called me a couple of days ago and told me the news.  I was for sure, she had the wrong person but I guess it's common.

Im anemic but any type of iron supplement I take hurts my stomach extremely bad and I get cramps and constipation that can last up to 4 days :/

I was also told on monday that I am slightly anemic and im on iron meds twice a day for the remainder of my pregnancy.  Im 27+1

Thanks turtle414, I need to look into those pills for the remainder of my pregnancy.  Are those sold at GNC?

Yep, I take slow FE, it's an otc iron supplement. Was anemic with both babies. No biggie :)

Thanks ladies...they gave me some sample iron pills to take daily....

I've always had anemia all my life, but now that Im pregnant its worse. They'll have you take two iron pills so no worries :) later they'll test you again for anemia.

Yes, I found out I was when I went to the ER once.  Now I take iron supplements every few days.
