I'm on my third round of antibiotics. I keep getting BV and now I've got a yeast infection from the pills. The joys of being pregnant.
This helps so much! I know the benefits outweigh the risks...I might as well suck it up and take the terazol ...this yeast infection is killing me! I may also try that home remedy solution....plus now I do feel better knowing that I am not the only one who has had more than one UTI during pregnancy...it seems that no pregnant women I know personally have had to take any type of antibiotics....thank you all!
Hey I have had a UTI and had to take antibiotics.... BUT with my first baby boy I had a urinary tract infection every single doctor's appointment that I went to =( I had to take antibiotics the whole time (for 8 months) and he was perfectly healthy except for a little jaundice (but being born at 36 weeks he was really healthy) and besides the stomach aches and vomiting that the antibiotics caused it really did no harm =) I hope you feel better soon!
I'm sorry to hear that :/ Antibiotics suck :/
Try drinking lots of water and cranberry juice. Also, eat lots of probiotic yogurt. This is gonna sound nasty, but you can buy a small container of balkan yogurt, and put some on your vaginal area and leave it on for a while, then take a shower. All these things should at least help the yeast infection, and can also help with the UTI as well.
Doing this before starting a perscription of antibiotics and during usually helps prevent a yeast infection.
I have the exact same problem as you and monistat I am allergic and swell up bad from it. I am now 26-27 weeks, but around 19 weeks I had a severe sinus infection and of course ... got a yeast infection from the antibiotics. I usually am prescribed an oral pill for yeast infections called flucizole (I think) but couldn't take it. My doc prescribed me a vaginal pill that is inserted for 7 days that ..I didn't have an allergy thank goodness. I know the feeling of taking medication while pregnant it's scary, but if you don't take the antibiotics for the UTIs they can send you into preterm labor because the bladder puts pressure ont he uterus. It is better for you to get treated and take the medicine than to have complications from being left untreated. Benefits out weigh the risk. Good luck and I hope you feel better !!!
