she is right but if this was not normal it could mean you are prego go get a test it will put your mind at ease and if you are not prego you should see your doc and make sure all is good down there.
I am on my phone, so I can only see the very beginning of your question (can/do you have a period while pregnant) and the answer is no. A period consists of shedding the uterine lining that is needed to substain a pregnancy. You can have vaginal bleeding though which might mimic a period.
