get headaches when I sleep on my back

Hello :-) ...I am 17wks today, about a wk or so ago I started getting really horrible headaches when I sleep on my back. The pain is all at the base of my skull and it hurts so bad it wakes my up in the middle of the night and lasts for a few days. I've been taking up to 4 Tylenol a day but it's not helping. Any suggestions?

Thanks ladies...I try to lay / sleep on my left side but sometimes I roll on to my back and I only realize it when the headache pain wakes me up. Maybe a body pillow will help keep me on my side? I haven't bought one yet...

After the first trimester you should try not to sleep flat on ur back . I read that when u lay on ur back the weight of ur uterus presses on the major vein that returns blood from your lower body to ur heart . When u lay on ur back for a long time it could make you feel dizzy.

My DR told me that after the first trimester, it is ok to take excedrine migraine. But not too frequently because it contains some.caffine!
