Anyone have any input on a D&C

Me and hubby went to our first dr appt and found out that i had a sac with no baby in it. I was 11wks & 4days. I am having a D&C on the 26th and was wanting some input on it. And how long did it take four you to conceive after a D&C?
         Thanks for the input.

I had a d&c and got pregnant before my first cycle. (4 weeks post d&c). Wasn't trying and only had sex once that month unprotected.

i had my 1st d&c 2 weeks before christmas just gone and the doctor said i wasnt allowed to concieve until i had at least to periods. i had a scan done cz i started bleeding and found the baby had no heart beat. but they left me for 2 weeks and nothing happened so had no choice but to have a d&c done. i think it took about an hour im not sure as i was out cold lol. but they said to have 2 cycles before tryin again and i concieved then the 1st month we started tryin again. goodluck to you anyway

Thank you. My doctor sat down and talked to us about it. I elected to have a D&C instead of waiting for it to come natural. I told him that i was ready for it to just be over with.

The average, healthy couple that is actively ttc will experience 1-2 miscarriages during their reproductive years.  It's more common than most people realize, but a lot of times it happens so early the woman never even knows she is pregnant yet and assumes it's her period.  I have had TWO miscarriges, a full term stillborn (cord accident) and I have FIVE beautiful, healthy children.  I have no issues with fertility or otherwise.  It's just something that happens.  It's a genetic form of "survival of the fittest" so-to-speak.  It occurs because of chromosomal abnormalities or the cells didn't divide properly or any other number of reasons that are beyond anyones control.

Your husband may need a little more time to grieve this loss, it may be helpful to have a doctor explain how common this is and what the chances are of it happening again.

Thank yall for the input. And thank you PetiteWonder. Im not scared about the procedure because I have had  c-section with daughter 2 1/2 years ago and I had a tumor in my leg with i had to have surgery on my leg and that was 18 years ago and im 23. My hubby says he doesnt know if he wants anymore because he is afraid that it will happen again. Dont get me wrong i am not afraid that it wont happen again. i just want a playmate for my daughter. I guess you could say that i want one now more than ever.

I had a d & c, didn't take long.  Was a fairly easy procedure, I just remember being RAVENOUS afterwards because of not being able to eat before hand.  It took us about 12 months, but we also weren't really trying...we were just letting whatever happened happen.

I had  a d&c after my first pregnancy...  Mine was a similar story...  My d&c went fine was in and out within 15 minutes....  I wentback to work 3 days later.. There are some risks sometimes.. I waited 2 cycles before trying to conceive to heal..  I conceived during the 3rd month of trying .. It was about 6 months in total..

it took 6 weeks for my period to occur after the d&c
