Induced early

I am 35+4 & my baby is weighing in at 5lb 2oz. The doctor told me to go back in 2weeks for a growth scan & if his weight hasnt improves they are going to induce me early. I thought he was weighing ok for how far I am. My bump is quite small & says on my notes, growth is good but clinically small. What does that mean?

I am 35w 2d and my baby only weighs 3lbs so you shouldn't worry. My baby is sick and isn't expected to grow much more. Youre baby will be ok. Some women have small babies.

I went through this with my lil guy the doctors put me through a panic the last mnth of pregnancy they kept saying he was measuring small n so was i. i couldn't believe it cuz i gained 60lbs n im 5'7 so i have a long torso i kept having to get growth scans every week n nst too he was born 11/8 at 8lbs 3oz 20.5" so i have no idea y they put me through all that stress. They kept bringing up being induced but i just didn't want that he came 4days b4 his due date thank god. i hope all goes well for u n as far as u/s scans its hard for me to believe them anymore they can b off

It doesn't sound like anything to worry about...I have intrauterine growth restriction which cause babies to be small and we are hoping I can go full term or at least make it to 38 weeks. Its not necessarily bad but the reason they want to induceIs because baby isn't growing right in there on its own so its better to get them out and assist than to leave them in there where they obviously aren't thriving

If their determining that by ultrasound it doesn't mean that's how big/small your baby is. After 35 weeks there's a 99% your baby will be fine if born. My friend just had her baby 1 month and 1 day early and she came out 5lbs 12oz 17in long. Small but healthy. At this point your baby should be about 5 1/2 lbs. they probably just want you to have a bigger baby or atleast more weight on him. Good luck and hope everything works out
