I did exactly what TARA described after I gave birth. Tucks pads were my new best friend as I got a hemorrhoid and I tore pretty bad and it hurt so bad whenever I had to go to the bathroom or had gas. Everytime I would change my pad or go to the bathroom, I would replace the tucks with a new one. Keeping it on the area is the best thing to do and it helped relieve my pain. Your body is trying to get back to normal and the pains seem normal. If they intensify or you notice any irregular bleeding than notify your doc. Hope you start feeling better soon. I didn't feel like my normal self until about 7-8weeks post partum.
I know that when I had 3 of my 4 kids, I had problems with hemorrhoids that hurt very badly! What I did when I had mine was I used those tucks pads, they work wonders, but if you only wipe with them the help is for only a very short amount of time. So what I did (and this may or may not sound wierd, lol) was I would take a stack of 2 or 3 and leave them on the affected area and the relief lasted for about 30 mins, sometimes longer. I also sat in an epsom salt bath for about 30 mins or so. That also seemed to help. I think that you should be fine to wait until your doctor appointment, however you need to watch out if you begin to bleed. If you do, keep track of how much, and if your loosing more than I would say maybe a teaspoon, then I would definately call your doctor right away. I know I am not a professional, but I have been where you have been. I hope this will help you. Oh yeah, and make sure that you are taking the stool softners that was given to you after labor because any strain or constipation will definately aggrivate the area down there. Good luck!
