BV??!!

Soo..my doctor called this morning and told me I have BV..they said I need to start antibiotics ASAP which I picked up tonight, but I researched it and it can cause preterm labor & 2nd trimester miscarriage...I am freaking out! I started my antibiotics but I need to know has anyone got this and had bad outcome with their pregnancy? I'm 15+3, please help!

BV is super common, and as long as you stay on top of it with antibiotics you'll be ok. I have chronic BV and when I'm not pregnant I use a peroxide douche to clear it up, and it will take care of if for a good long time. Obviously you shouldn't douche while you're pregnant, so the antibiotics are the best way to go right now. Eating yogurt with live cultures and a balanced diet really helps too, because BV usually is triggered by an autoimmune response killing all the good bacteria in there. Don't worry yourself too much, just follow doctors orders :)

You will be fine it will clear up in about a wk, i had one during early pregnancy (6wks) and it caused me to spot but after I used the vaginal antibiotics everything was fine, im now 25+2 and my son is fine so dont worry.

Ohhh no, that's if it gets REALLY REALLY bad, I've had BV a few times this pregnancy, and a LOT with my previous pregnancy, I'm just prone to them while pregnant, don't worry about that at all, take your medicine, it will go away and you'll be fine!

What is bv?

No no, the actual infection can cause that, not the medicine

What's the medication? I had a couple different antibiotics with those as risks and never had an issue, if the benefits outweigh the risks, they'll prescribe that, double check with your doctor but it's probably fine to take, a lot of medicines will say terrible things that can happen.
