Baby dropping second pregnancy - how soon until labor begins?

My baby dropped about a week ago, I thought. The OB confirmed today that he did drop. With my first pg, my girl didn't drop so this is all new to me. My question is how long after your baby dropped did you go into labor with a second pregnancy?  (I know with a first pg, it could be weeks.)
Thanks! I know a baby will come the baby is ready but I thought it might be fun to find out what others have experienced with dropping in second pregnancies.

I will be 36 weeks this Wednesday. I was just curious - just like asking what can bring on labor!

Most of what I read says in second pregnancies and beyond, most babies don't drop until labor. But I know every pg is different.

My ds is measuring 2 weeks ahead, as well. I am very uncomfortable so once he reaches full term at 37 weeks...well let's just say I am hoping he shows up sooner rather then later!

Thanks for your response!

My daughter dropped, then moved back up, then dropped again. I ended up going from 0 station back to -2 station when I delivered. So, she had moved back up when I went into labor.

Could be weeks with a 2nd baby as well...My first baby (my daughter) dropped at about 37wks and I delivered at 40wks on the nose...my  second baby, my son, dropped at about 36wks and I delivered at 39w4d.

It all depends on the baby and how prepared your body is for labor...number of pregnancies doesn't have as much to do with it.

How far along are you?? With all that I said above, it could still be any day, so that's exciting :-)
