22wks but cervix is shortening already scared worried

im only going be 23wks pregnant on xmas day.
i saw my doc this past Thursday and was told my baby is ok but her head and the water sac is pushing on my cervix and my cervix is already shortening. i haven't dilated yet but history of dilating early at 27wks with 3 previous pregnancies.this is my 6th baby. im considered high risk. i get weekly shots of hormones and because my cervix shortening i use nightly hormone i put into my cervix to highly tighten my muscles ect.
      using the nightly pills is first option if doesn't work next choices is either possibly ending up in hospital bedrest or surgery sew cervix shut. which im scared to do and chance of them popping my water bag :-( we are so long forward to our daughter so scared of losing her if she comes to early... i follow up with doc monday.
      bedrest would b great but no one to babysit my other kids without my husband loosing his job. any advice ? or options?
i do care for 3 kids at home 8, bout be 5, & 2yr old.

thanks for ur comment. i been stressin and worried. i do have history of preterm labor, 2 first kids made it to 37wks but last 3boys dilated at 27wks one born at 32, 36 6days last made it longest surprisingly at 38wks... this first time had this problem and so early. im scared to do the surgery cause  They can break the bag by accident...
also hard to do bedrest husband only one bringing money home for bills and no help for babysitting kids. ihave a 8,5,& 2 at home... :-( but this is my last pregnancy just hoping she will b ok

I had to be sewn (cerclage) due to my cervix shortening also. I got mine at 21 wks and they still kept me on the nightly progesterone inserts. Every doc is different but had to be on bed rest for 2 days afterwards and then pelvic rest till three weeks ago when my stitch came out. after it was out I immediately dilated to a 2 and tom. I will be 40 wks. For me I am very happy I did it!
