Baby not moving - help

Hello gals,

I am 20 weeks now and feeling my baby moves past two weeks. Those moves were like tiny flickering movements. From two days am unable to notice any movement except one or two small movements at night time before going to bed. Is it normal.. Or do am expecting too much from my lil one.. Pls help... Am tensed a lot as this is my first pregnancy..  Answers would be appreciated...

Hi there. I am almost 21 weeks and experiencing the same thing. This is baby #4 for me but I am noticing so many things I never did with my other pregnancies. The baby has been moving for weeks but the last few days she has slowed down. I think it is just that they are beginning to gain sleep patterns and getting a little cramped. I don't think you have anything at all to worry about.

This is pretty normal at only 20 weeks, especially if it's your first pregnancy.  Doctors won't usually become concerned about lack of consistent fetal movement until after around 24 weeks.

Baby is still small and the position s/he is in can have a great deal to do with whether or not you are feeling movements.  It also has a lot to do with placement of the placenta.  If you have an anterior placenta (meaning in the front) it will mask many of the movements.

If you are ever concerned you can ALWAYS try callign your doctor for reassurance.
