Back/Rib pain!!

HELP, omg it hurts tremendously....i can barely move..i dont even want to take in a breath! it feels like my ribs are being crushed in a vice and my back hurts really bad right below my shoulder blades like something is pulling down hard on the muscles....but it doesnt hurt in my lower back like id imagine it would with back labor. can this have anything to do with the pre-eclampsia? My doctors office isnt open today for me to ask, but i have an appointment in the morning. Has anyone had this happen before? what can i do (while on bedrest) to help it? it hurts sooo much!

Hey it is safe to use a heating pad as long as it is set on low and doesn't get on your tummy! I hope you feel better and you get good news tomorrow and they stick your butt in the hospital and get Mathew out!

I can totally sympathize.  For whatever reason my kids LOVED to live under my ribs.  Made it so uncomfortable for me and really annoying too.  Hopefully it is just baby and s/he will change positions soon.

thanks for replying, i was wondering if it was possible that he kicked a rib so hard that it popped it out of place or even broke it...im just so miserable its unbelievable ...it feels like someone with a very big boot is keeping their foot jammed into the middle of my back...i think i'll try some tylonel and hope for the best :(

I don't have much advice.  The only thing I can think of is possible the babys position causing it.  My kids have all liked to get up under my ribs and a couple of times they pushed a rib out of position causing major pain.
