A lot of drs won't see women until after 12 weeks, or right around there because so much can happen in early pregnancy, and a lot of women miscarry. I wasn't seen with this pregnancy (now 25 weeks) until 15 weeks for my first actual drs appointment, I was in the middle of a move from overseas. But I did have a referral for an ultrasound at 11 weeks because I had gone to the ER when I thought I had food poisoning.
yeah i totally think its weird i havent had one yett!
Your uterus is still LOW, you won't be able to feel it yet. 11-13 weeks is when you can usually start hearing a heart beat with a doppler. I wouldn't worry about it, you're just going to put yourself through unneeded stress. She probably wrote confirm gest age because you could have ovulated a little earlier or later, and that could change your due date by a few days and make you either further or earlier than you think you are, or you could be measuring right on schedule, it's nothing to be concerned about, they usually do early ultrasounds and measure the baby to see the gestational age.
I was told by my dr that to hear the heart beat would b around 12-14wks... sometimes earlier... Im sure if the dr thought there was a problem she would have done a ultrasound..
