Braxton Hicks??

Hello,

For the most part of today Ive been having braxton hicks(I mean they have been pretty frequent) However the last hour or so they have gotten stronger-like take my breathe away. I didn't think BH were spose to hurt just tightening's? Am confused right now just sitting & breathing hoping it stops!

Im pretty sure its BH but if you could just give me your opinions that would be great.

Hi,

Im back :) Was 2cm dilated when I got to the hospital 50% effaced. They gave me IV ritodrine, seems to be working so far but they said if I go again then they won't stop it-they said baby looked great, so made me :)

Had the odd BH since but they said I would still like any pregnancy & have been put on BR for 2 weeks :( as long as baby is good then I don't care!!

DH phoned the hospital. They told us to come in......Hopefully be back soon to tell you im still pregnant.
I hope all is going to be ok-I can't explain how frightened I am right now.

don't be scared cause your baby has such an excellent chance of doing fine if it was born now!! the nurse told me mine would be fine too and im 32 weeks! :) i would call though if i were you hun cause its just better that they stay put a little while longer. you dont want the contractions to start changing your cervix--might weren't fortunately but they opted to stop them because they could start changing my cervix at any time--and once your cervix is to a certain point you can't do anything about it.

They are all around the lower front going round to the back. Ive been trying to change positions with not much luck. I just went 19 minutes without anything but then got the same again! I wish they would just go away-Im scared now.

Its nearly 1am here & we are sitting up just waiting & hoping they stop.

BH are not regular but can hurt! THey intensify the further you get. Changing positions do make them go away. Also they are not all over the whole front of your uterus and mostly just more lower. If they do not sound like this then you can be having early labor. They do not have to be refugular but intensify with change of position anf frequency and go all over you whole uterus even to the back. Best of luck and always better to be safe then sorry.

i think you should call the doctor...i had this a few days ago and had to stay overnight in the hospital to stop them..i asked the l&d nurse what point they wouldn't stop them and she said probably around 35 weeks...so you're probably still at the point where they will probably chose to have them stopped..even if they won't stop them for you, you at least need to call at the off chance they would want to.
