i did it when i was pregnant and it said boy but i had a girl
actually the pH of urine is close to neutral (7) but can normally vary between 4.6 and 8 and there are lots of factors that affect your urine, mainly the persons health, diet and yes hydration...
PS i so checked this out when investigating the gender predictor :)
Never heard of this!
It sounds fun, not to be a downer, but... urine is naturally acidic. Baking soda is alkaline. Mixing them together should be pretty much like the vinegar-baking soda volcanoes we make as kids. I'd expect the only real reason you wouldn't always get lots of fizz would be majorly diluted urine.
Do you have to be so far along for it to work??
Oh and you can test a guy too! Just do it on their hand! Again, my family swears by this!
How my family has always done the string test is you take your engagement ring and place it on a string. Place this over your stomach. Make sure it isn't spinning or moving when you start. It will either start moving in circles or back and forth. It will stop and ten start again. This will predict all of your children. It has worked for my entire family. My husband doubted it so he testes his mom. If you aren't pregnant you are supposed to do it on your hand. Well his moms test confirmed that it works! It will stop dead after the last child you will have. Hers did a boy then girl then stopped. Mine has always done girl, boy, girl then stopped! Oh circle is girl back and forth is boy!
Thats really funny that your hubby did it too!
I just peed in a paper cup and dumped it into the baking soda cup... if its gonna foam it will do it right when the pee hits it so it doesnt take much... i dont think it matters when in the day you do it as it just goes by how acidic your urine is and i think that goes by what you eat? its just for fun... i doubt there is a scientific reason to it... i think it just goes by the whole 50/50 chance like the rest... but its fun... :)
Hubby peed in cup and it foamed like beer. So he is a boy! Lol I peed in cup and got nothing! I don't know what I'm having yet though.
I tried the baking soda and the string test, both said girl and on my ultrasounds they confirmed girl :)
Do you have to use your first morning urine? And how much urine do you use?
I did it a few months ago and it said girl! We'll have to wait till march to see if it was right because we aren't finding out what we're having. But it is a fun test!
I looked it up for accuracy. It was 54% accurate 16% non accurate and 30% undetermined; which means they actually tested 2 early 4 a ultrasound confirmation. It looked promising while reading the reviews.
whats the string test and month test?
Oh yay! See July baby group isnt quite far enough to find out the gender for sure yet so thats why i posted it here, mine fizzed up right away! so only time will tell!
I also want to know if this is true! The string test and month test both say we are having a girl but I thought this one was interesting too!
sounds interested i will try it when I get home i am having a girl so we shall see....
