Beginning a job.

Let me break it down for you ladies.
I am a type one diabetic, controlled blood sugars, and just started my third trimester today! I also got a call, about a job I applied for months ago. I will be starting next week, its only a cashier position, and the manager knows I'm pregnant. I'm just stressed that I won't have the energy, or that I'll lose control of my sugars, but my husband and I so desperately need this extra income! So any advice would be much appreciated, I'm keeping my best and most positive attitude about all of this. Just wondering if there are any extra precautions I should take, or just any advice. First time mother, also. Having a little girl. Thanks in advance!!!

You should take it. It just takes a lot of planning ahead of your meals when you work. I have 2 jobs and it's been intense at times. You just need to talk to your manager about the severities of being a pregnant diabetic and that you need breaks when it's time for you to eat. If they aren't understanding, walk. That's how I've been about it especially when I've felt low sugars at work. I'm not gonna go into hypoglycemic shock for a minimum wage job.

Thanks ladies. I plan to take the job, and am hoping to have a consistent amount of energy. Keep snacks on hand, drink lots of fluids, do just about everything I can to make it happen!

You can do it, I would ask for a stool to sit on when needed and just make sure you snack and be sure to have a snack or food on your breaks

I say take the job, do your best for your health. Do not let the job effect your helth. Your helth is more important, but I would take the job..
Good luck

Im a manager at a fast food store, I had a lot of energy at the beginning of my third trimester but had to stop working a week ago because I could barely stand up(34 weeks with a big boy! ). My best advice is to sit when possible, maybe ask to sit on a stool in front of the cash register. You want to stay off your feet as much as possible. Wear compression socks and a back brace and drink lots of water and keep a snack close by at all! Just dont push your self: ) good luck!!
