Oh and are they having you do anything else to help prevent a miscarriage? Usually, after multiple miscarriages, women are on a drug protocol- Lovenox, baby aspirin, progesterone supplements.
Well the sonogram isn't going to show much, if anything, that early on.
I'm so sorry you've had multiple miscarriages. They definitely take away your innocence when you find out you're pregnant. I hope that as time passes you'll feel more comfortable that your little one is safe and growing!
((((HUGS))))) I can so totally relate to the nerves!!! (i've had 3 m/c myself) Please don't put too much into your u/s on Tues though... I pray that you will see your little one, but I wouldn't count on it. I had 2 u/s between 6 weeks and 6 1/2 weeks were they saw nothing but a gest sac... I was so sure I was going to m/c... My Dr. wasn't even incredibly optimistic but she sent me for a high resolution scan... and there we saw everything!! gest sac, yolk sac, fetal pole, and h/b!! I'm almost 10 weeks now!
I guess what I am trying to say is your #'s sound good, thats a great sign!! Just remember that how much they can see in an u/s that early really depends on the equiptment and the position of your uterus and your baby. And remember, most of us didn't see a heart beat till AFTER 6 weeks some even longer...
(((HUGS)))
Best of Luck at your u/s! Lots of Sticky Baby Dust!! And please keep us posted!
They have checked my progesterone, but I don't know what the number was. They just said that my numbers looked good. I go for an ultrasound on Tuesday. I am 5weeks2days. I'm just nervous as I have had several mc before.
Welcome to motherhood- the worry never stops from here on out!
It is possible to miscarry after having seen doubling digits, usually if the woman has a blood clotting disorder or is not producing enough progesterone. If they checked your progesterone and it was around 15-20 or more, definitely stop worrying!
Honestly, yes, they could stop doubling, but once you have doubling beta's it is a VERY good sign!! My Dr. only ran 2 beta's on me too... he said that he doesn't like to run more than that because after he sees that they are doubling and the pregnancy is viable he doesn't want women to dwell on the #'s (they might not always exactly double every time, or they might more than double once and then not the next time)... He told me that u/s are MUCH more reliable once the beta's have doubled.
I would agree with spade, sounds like everything is progressing just fine, try not to worry.
Have they talked about when they will do your first U/S yet? How far along are you?
Sounds like everything is progressing normally - try not to worry.
