Ugh...pregnant & sick not a good match:0/

Hey ladies, I'm going on 11weeks Tuesday & I got sick yesterday now I have a fever. Is there any medicine I can take besides Tylenol, It does nothing for me!.. My throat hurts, stuffy nose, & coughing like crazy! Thnx to my fiancé's little brother. But my main concern is that the baby is ok, what is going on with him/her by me being sick?... I need some advice to hold me off until my doctors appt. Next week..

I went through the same thing (still coughing). From my doctor's website, a list of approved medications when you have a cold/flu:

Sudafed, Dimetapp, Tylenol Sinus, Claritin, Benadryl, Robitussin, Robitussin DM

I was also told I could take Mucinex DM.

You need to take the Tylenol to keep your fever down. If your fever is above 100.4 F then you need to contact your doctor's office.

Your baby should be fine. I got a nasty cold with DS when I was about 18 weeks. I would definitely call your Dr. and see what's safe to take... different Dr's will have different oppinions. I know my Dr. gave me a list when I first went in to see them that says that tylenol, benadryl, and sudafed are all ok... but like I said always ask your Dr. first...
And if you feel really lousy don't hesitate to call the after hours line to ask... after all, thats what they are there for, and better for you and the baby for you to feel better and rest than sit there miserable. Oh, and like Tiger said... keep the fluids up!
(((hugs)))

Your baby will be alright! Get plenty of rest, keep your fluids up and try to eat little bits throughout the day. At 12 weeks I got sick and it stayed around for a month so dr ended up giving me antibiotics. If your fever doesn't go away, i would call you midwives or dr clinic and ask them what action to take just to be sure.

Hope you get better soon.
